The Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed on Friday that during Operation Ashdar, they neutralised a terrorist identified as Yasir, a Pakistani national affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This operation marks a significant step in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the region.

In a social media announcement, J&K Police shared the identification details, emphasizing with the message, “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide!” They reiterated that Yasir was a key member of the proscribed outfit LeT.

This development coincides with a strategic increase in counter-terror operations across Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces are now more vigilant, focusing on tracking down and neutralising foreign militants operating in sensitive areas.

The intensified operations come in response to recent security assessments indicating an uptick in infiltration attempts along the borders. Police and military forces are collaborating closely, utilizing enhanced surveillance techniques and intelligence-led missions to dismantle terrorist networks.

Authorities have stressed the importance of community cooperation in these operations. Local residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities, helping security agencies maintain peace and security in the region.

In addition to counter-insurgency operations, the J&K Police are also prioritising efforts to build trust with the civilian population. Enhancing local engagement serves to undermine the influence of terrorist propaganda and networks.

Over the past few months, over 25 terrorists have been neutralised in various operations throughout Jammu and Kashmir, demonstrating the commitment of the forces to combat terrorism.

As long as militant groups like LeT pose a threat to peace, J&K Police vow to continue their operations diligently. Their focus remains on ensuring that no element of violence thrives in the region.
